£50,000 – £85,000 plus bonuses
We are keen to speak to experienced Infrastructure Engineers with active enhanced Developed Vetting security clearance to join a global technology company, in Gloucestershire, working on secure, mission‑critical systems for government and defence clients.
Key responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain secure infrastructure environments (Windows, Linux, or hybrid).
- Configure and manage hardware platforms, virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V), and storage solutions.
- Automate system builds, configuration, and maintenance using tools like Ansible, PowerShell, or Terraform.
- Monitor and respond to infrastructure incidents, ensuring availability and performance.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, application, and network teams in cross‑functional secure delivery projects.
- Maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and security artefacts.
- Support change control and configuration management in high‑assurance environments.
Skills that we’re interested in
- Proven experience in infrastructure engineering within secure environments.
- Strong understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure: servers, storage, networking, and virtualisation.
- Experience with one or more OS platforms: Windows Server, Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, etc.).
- Familiarity with system security hardening, patching, and vulnerability remediation.
- Scripting or automation experience (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible).
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, VLANs).
- Experience with virtualisation and containerisation (e.g., VMware, KVM, Docker).
- Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and security tools (e.g., ELK, Splunk, SELinux).
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a methodical approach to problem solving.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or private cloud environments).
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
