We are looking for a skilled engineer to join our team in Glasgow. As a Service Engineer with Scot JCB, you will visit a variety of customer sites throughout the area to carry out maintenance, repairs and services on our customers' machines to a high standard. This is a fantastic opportunity to utilise and develop your engineering skills in a varied and interesting role.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Repairing and maintaining machines on customers' sites as required to ensure conformance with manufacturer’s specification.
- Attending breakdowns and fault finding on machines.
- Accurately completing all relevant paperwork daily.
- Submitting daily timesheets and job cards.
- Accurately ordering your parts and working closely with the parts department.
- Working closely with the service supervisor.
- Helping to train and mentor apprentice engineers.
- Carrying out inspections and repairs of machines at our depot as required - in conformance with manufacturer’s specification and any regulations affecting their use.
- Ensuring that there is no deficiency or defect likely to affect the safe working of a machine – and notifying the appropriate manager of any defective or unsafe equipment.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Relevant qualifications e.g. City and Guild, NVQ or SVQ in Construction Plant / HGV / Light Vehicle etc (essential).
- Experience in construction plant, diesel engines, electrics, hydraulics, transmissions, and fault finding using electronic diagnostic equipment.
- The ability to prioritise tasks and work well in a busy environment.
- Great customer service skills and the ability to build rapport with our customers.
- Good IT skills.
- A flexible and positive outlook with an outgoing approach to work.
