Scot JCB are looking for a plant/agricultural engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be based in the Caithness and Sutherland area.
This is a field-based role where you will travel from your home directly to our customers sites, so we are looking for a confident and independent individual with a strong background in the repair and maintenance of plant machinery.
Overnight stays on Orkney and other remote locations will be required on occasion.

- Key duties and responsibilities
- Repairing and maintaining machines on customers sites as required to ensure conformance with manufacturer’s specification
- Accurately completing all relevant paperwork daily on a phone or tablet
- Submitting daily timesheets and job cards
- Accurately ordering your parts and working closely with the parts department
- Working closely with the service supervisor
- Ensuring that there is no deficiency or defect likely to affect the safe working of a machine – and notifying appropriate manager of any defective or unsafe equipment
- The ideal candidate will have
- Relevant experience and qualifications e. g. City and Guild, NVQ or SVQ qualifications in Construction Plant Maintenance/Land-based engineering
- Experience in construction plant, diesel engines, electrics, hydraulics, transmissions, and fault finding using electronic diagnostic equipment
- The ability to prioritise tasks and work well in a busy environment
- Great customer service skills and the ability to build rapport with our customers
- Good IT skills
- A flexible and positive outlook with an outgoing approach to work
