Scot JCB are looking for a skilled plant engineer to join our growing team of field engineers based in or around the Bedford, Market Harborough or Stevenage areas. This role will involve covering work in the Nottingham, Leicester, Coventry and Oxford areas, so willingness to travel is essential. This is a field-based role where you will travel from your home directly to our customers' sites, so we are looking for a confident and independent individual with a strong background in the repair and maintenance of plant machinery.
Salary: Competitive base rate plus overtime and bonus

Scot JCB has been supplying and servicing JCB machinery throughout Scotland and the North of England for over 60 years. We sold our first machine in 1956 and have grown into a highly specialised machinery distribution company operating through a network of 14 depots from Huntly in the North East of Scotland to Carnforth in Lancashire. Responsibilities:
- Repairing and maintaining machines on customers' sites as required to ensure conformance with manufacturers' specifications.
- Accurately completing all relevant paperwork daily on a phone or tablet.
- Submitting daily timesheets and job cards.
- Accurately ordering your parts and working closely with the parts department.
- Working closely with the service supervisor.
- Carrying out inspections and repairs of machines at our depot as required - in conformance with manufacturers' specifications and any regulations affecting their use.
- Ensuring that there is no deficiency or defect likely to affect the safe working of a machine and notifying the appropriate manager of any defective or unsafe equipment.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Relevant experience and qualifications e.g. City and Guild, NVQ or SVQ qualifications in Construction Plant Maintenance.
- Experience in construction plant, diesel engines, electrics, hydraulics, transmissions, and fault finding using electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Experience working on JCB Loadalls would be advantageous.
- The ability to prioritise tasks and work well in a busy environment.
- Great customer service skills and the ability to build rapport with our customers.
- Good IT skills.
- A flexible and positive outlook with an outgoing approach to work.
