PURPOSE To lead and optimise end-to-end supply chain operations. This includes procurement, inventory control, logistics, and distribution ensuring quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE:
- Develop and execute supply chain strategy, covering procurement, inventory, logistics, and shipping.
- Manage supplier relationships, contracts, and compliance with ISO9001 across ~1,000 line items.
- Oversee inventory control and accurate monthly cycle counts of key items.
- Collaborate with Operations and Engineering on product changes, ECNs, and new product launches.
- Support infrastructure upgrades (facilities, systems, and IT) to improve supply chain performance.
- Ensure team structure and capacity meets business demand through training, recruitment and clear direction.
- Lead and implement process improvements aligned with business goals.
- Influence strategic planning as a key member of the UK Senior Management Team.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
- Proven leadership in supply chain in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (ideally WinMan).
- Experience across procurement, logistics, inventory, and supplier management.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and process-driven.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Hands-on, team-focused leadership style.
- CIPS qualified (preferred).
- Demonstrated success in process improvement and cost reduction.
