Head, Oncology Clinical Development – ADCs

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Accountable for end-to-end clinical development of an MOA-focused, multi-tumor asset (registrational trials, regulatory approval, initial market launch) with scientific rigor, speed, and quality.
  • Shape and drive clinical development strategy for the asset and disease areas aligned to Oncology portfolio priorities.
  • Evaluate and enable novel approaches (e.g., AI/ML, innovative trial designs, external/real-world data) when valuable.
  • Provide oversight and visibility across the asset program (progress, risks, dependencies, trade-offs).
  • Serve as default senior clinical representative at governance forums (e.g., DRB, PIB) and represent Clinical Development internally/externally (including congress and advisory boards).
  • Lead external scientific advisory boards and engagements to inform asset/competitive positioning.
  • Act as a connector across Research, Precision Medicine/Companion Diagnostics, Medical Affairs, Commercial, Competitive Intelligence, and Global Product Strategy; drive integrated development and lifecycle planning.
  • Foster a culture of empowerment, scientific excellence, inclusion, and collaboration.

Skills & Capabilities

  • Senior leadership in early-/late-phase oncology drug development (FTIH through registrational and launch readiness); strong translational-to-clinical strategy translation; portfolio-level accountability; advanced cross-functional/matrix leadership; fluency with innovative development approaches.

Basic Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MD/MBBS/MBChB or equivalent); board certification/eligibility/registration in a primary medical specialty.
  • Pharmaceutical oncology drug development experience; leadership from FTIH through registrational studies/launch readiness.
  • Experience leading ADC or targeted oncology programs; asset/portfolio governance and execution accountability.
  • Experience with global health authorities and regulatory submissions; leadership of global cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Board certification/eligibility/registration in medical oncology or hematology/oncology.
  • Governance leadership and executive-level decision-making; translational research experience; innovative approaches (advanced analytics/AI-ML/RWE/novel trial design).

Hybrid/Location Note

  • Hybrid working; minimum two days/week on-site at UK (Stevenage or London HQ), US (Collegeville/Waltham), or Switzerland (Zug). Role may relocate from Stevenage to Cambridge (proposed early 2029).
