Basic Pay: £17-18 p/h + £66.25 per sleep-in
Overall package = £38,064 - £41,272 p/a based on 4-8 sleeps per month
Enhanced Overtime: +£2 per hour

Shift pattern: 7:30-23:00, 2 on 4 off + two 9-5 admin days per month (171 hours p/m)
Join an Outstanding Ofsted rated, 6 Bedded SEMH Children’s Home that has second-to-none outcomes for young people! This home resides in the village of Wombourne on a large 5.5-acre plot. Home to four young people aged 13-17, and a therapy-dog-in-training. The young people are engaged in education and activities, including Merlin Passes for days out.
The organisation is family-run and directed by an experienced Clinical Psychologist with expertise in working with young people who have experienced trauma, neglect, and neurodiversity. Ofsted praised leadership, and staff for positive relationships with children.
The Package & Benefits:
- Basic pay: £17-18 per hour, plus £66.55 per sleep-in

Role Entailment:
As a Deputy Children’s Home Manager, you will be the backbone of the staff team while on shift. You will lead the team to ensure smooth operation of the home and high-quality care for young people.
What the Successful Candidate Will Excel At:
- Support the Registered Manager to operate the home to an excellent standard, adhering to Ofsted Children’s Home Act (2015), Quality Standards, and Safeguarding Procedures
- Manage a staff team, complete supervisions and appraisals, ensure trainings align with Quality Standards
- Develop and review Ofsted-required paperwork such as care plans, behaviour support plans, risk assessments, and regulated reports; attend LAC, EHCP, PEP and Pathway Planning meetings
- Communicate effectively with young people, colleagues, families, and external professionals
- Carry out administrative tasks including health and safety checks, medication audits, rotas, finances, recruitment and inductions
- On-call responsibilities; provide expert advice during out-of-hour crises
Requirements:
- 2+ years experience leading a team within a children’s home environment
- Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
- Flexibility to carry out the shift pattern described, including sleep-ins and on-call duties
- A genuine passion for supporting the well-being and healthy development of young people and staff
