Overall package: up to £37,243.20 p/a (based on 10 sleep-ins per month)
Shift pattern: 9:30-22:00, 2 on 4 off + sleep-in every shift
Who will you be working for? Join this brand-new organisation currently registering their 3 Bedded EBD Childrenās home in the peaceful and affluent area of Olton, Solihull! This provider of residential childcare has started their journey into building a therapeutic childrenās home ā they are headed by an experienced Registered Manager with a āGoodā track record with Ofsted and a Clinical Director with a focus on therapeutic approaches.
The home itself is a large 5 Bedded property and has been recently renovated, and newly furnished. The home will be registered for up to three young people that experience social and emotional difficulties and traumatic backgrounds. Each bedroom has been meticulously decorated and includes an attractive feature wall. The home has also converted the attic into a lovely sensory / quiet space for children!
The Package & Benefits:
- Basic pay: Up to £15.20 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, plus £55 per sleep-in
- Estimated package: Earn up to £37,243.20 per annum, based on 10 sleep-ins per month
- Enhanced Overtime Rate
- Fixed Shift Pattern: 2 on 4 off pattern & late starts (9:30am ā 10pm + sleep) ā USE 2 DAYS ANNUAL LEAVE = 10 DAYS OFF

What Will The Role Entail?
As a Senior Childrenās Residential Support Worker, you will be the backbone of the staff team whilst on shift. You will pull from your experience working in childrenās homes to manage and lead your passionate team to ensure smooth operation of the home and second-to-none delivery of care for young people.
The Successful Senior Childrenās Residential Support Worker Candidate Will Excel At:
- Communicating effectively with young people, your colleagues, families, and external professionals. Shift-leading, problem-solving, and being calm under pressure is vital for a Senior.
- Key-working with young people, considering their thoughts, wishes, and feelings, promoting life skills and independence, encouraging them to engage in education, activities, and hobbies. Most importantly, readying them for adult life when they leave care.
- Developing and reviewing Ofsted required paperwork such as care plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments, to name a few.
- Following Ofstedās regulations related to Quality Standards and understanding safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Understanding the operations of the home regarding Health and Safety, medication administration, cleanliness and finances.
Requirements for the Senior Childrenās Residential Support Worker role:
- 2+ yearsā experience working specifically within a childrenās home environment
- Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
- Flexibility to carry out the shift pattern described at the top of the advert, including sleep-ins
- A genuine passion for supporting the well-being and healthy development of young people
