Who will you be working for?
This Registered Manager post is for a newly registered Childrenâs home in the gorgeous and historic village of Rainford, St Helens. The home is a stone built detached cottage, registered as a 4 Bed EBD home, with an acre of private gardens. It is beautifully renovated and supplemented by a fantastic three storey extension. Children are able and encouraged to personalise their own space. The team are newly recruited but have a healthy balance of strong experienced staff and eager, aspiring support workers. There is a strong Deputy in place who has already shown signs of capability to step up themselves in the future and you will play a key part in mentoring and developing them.
This organisation is well established having been operational for a decade and now has five childrenâs homes, all of which that have been inspected are rated âGood in all areasâ and supported by an incredible Responsible Individual with over 14 yearsâ experience in the industry, including managing large childrenâs homes themselves for almost half that time. You can expect a collaborative and ambitious culture, with plans for growth and development, and across the organisation, managers come together regularly to reflect on best practices and support one another.

What Will The Role Entail?
As a Childrenâs Home Registered Manager, you will be the backbone of the home. You will pull from your extensive experience working in childrenâs homes to manage and lead your passionate team to ensure smooth operation of the home, second-to-none delivery of care for young people, and Ofsted excellence.
The Successful Childrenâs Home Registered Manager Candidate Will Excel At:
* Running a childrenâs home to âGoodâ or âOutstandingâ standards, adhering to Ofstedâs Childrenâs Home Act (2015), Quality Standards, and Safeguarding Procedures
* Managing a staff team, completing supervisions and appraisals, and ensuring trainings are completed in line with Quality Standards
* Developing and reviewing Ofsted required paperwork such as care plans, behaviour support plans, risk assessments, and regulated âRegâ reports & attending and engaging in LAC, EHCP, PEP and Pathway Planning meetings and reviews.
* Communicating effectively with young people, colleagues, families, and external professionals.
* Conducting administrative tasks such as health and safety checks, medication audits, rotas, finances, and taking part in recruitment activities and inductions
* On-call responsibilities; ensuring the home has your expert advice in out-of-hour crises
Requirements for the Childrenâs Home Registered Manager role:
* Minimum of 2+ yearsâ experience leading a team specifically within a childrenâs home environment
* Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
* Full UK Manual Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
* An understanding of the SCCIF, Childrenâs Home Act (2015), and Quality Standards, the ability to register as a manager with Ofsted, and pass a Fit Personâs Interview
* A genuine passion for supporting the well-being and healthy development of young people, as well as for your staff team
