The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
The Lead Material Controller will support the TL in running the department and ensure all KPIs, Goals and Objectives are met and achieving all material and logistics targets.
Primary responsibilities:
- Aiding the team leader in the supervision of logistics and materials, issuing of jobs and any work-related problems that may arise.
- Identifying and implementing continuous improvement projects across the Materials Team.
- Looking after all Score/client stock as per procedure.
- Stock counting of inventory held, investigating discrepancies highlighted by the process through to reconciliation.
- Ensuring labour is working at maximum capacity to meet priority deadlines, leading by example.
- Arranging adequate ad hoc cover to cover workload within section.
- Ensuring compliance to customs issues related to the company’s business.
- Representing the team at meetings to give updates on material status.
- Any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Desirable – SVQ Level 2 / 3 Warehousing and Stores.
- Practical experience of plant used with a warehouse – forklifts / overhead cranes / mobile cranes.
- Dangerous Goods for Air and Sea.
- Understanding of stock control systems, be numerate, have good problem-solving skills with excellent communication both written and verbal.
- PC literate in Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiar with Import / Export procedures.
- Awareness of Risk Assessments within a Materials function.
- Previous experience in a similar role along with mentoring, coaching and supervision of staff.
- Strong understanding of inventory control including handling, storing and preservation.
- HR awareness regarding personnel.
- Strong commitment towards HSEQ.
- Ability to confidently lead and deal with people issues.
