About the role
Are you a former Royal Navy or European naval professional with a passion for defence innovation and business growth? Do you combine operational insight with commercial acumen? Score Marine Limited is seeking an experienced Sales Account Executive – Naval Defence to lead strategic growth across the UK and European naval market. This role is preferably home-based in and around Bristol, reflecting close alignment with key naval, MOD, and defence industry stakeholders in the South West.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage strategic relationships with the UK Ministry of Defence, Royal Navy, European navies, NATO-aligned organisations, prime contractors, and shipyards.
- Identify, shape, and secure new naval and maritime defence opportunities across fleet sustainment, refit, upgrade, and operational support programmes.
- Act as the primary customer interface, translating naval operational requirements into commercial and engineered solutions.
- Support bids, tenders, and proposals, working closely with engineering, operations, and commercial teams.
- Represent Score Marine at naval, defence, and maritime exhibitions and industry events across the UK and Europe.
- Maintain a robust and transparent sales pipeline, providing accurate forecasting and reporting.
Qualifications
- Engineering HNC/HND or equivalent technical qualification (essential)
- Sufficient experience in naval, maritime or defence business development or commercial roles
- Prior service in the Royal Navy or a European naval force strongly preferred
- Proven experience engaging with UK MOD / DE&S, European defence organisations, shipyards, or defence primes.
- A track record of winning and developing complex, long-cycle defence opportunities.
- Bid and tender management experience desirable (APMP advantageous)
- Eligible for UK Security Clearance
- The ability to work autonomously from a home-based role, preferably located in or around Bristol / South West England.
