The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

The CNC Team Leader (Component Manufacturing Department) is directly responsible for providing supervision, guidance and support to all team members within the workshop, driving for on time delivery of all components and ensuring these meet the required quality standards.

Primary responsibilities

  • Liaise with MFR Scheduler and prioritise all manufacturing work accordingly.
  • Ensure each machine is manned accordingly based on requirements flowed down by MFR Scheduler.
  • Liaise with TL’s from NDT, Flow Room, Dimensional Inspection and QA to ensure components return to the department as per agreed timelines.
  • Lead weekly production meeting and provide information on cover available for the upcoming week.
  • Investigate defective and/or scrap components, raise INC’s where applicable, attend RCA meeting and ensure any actions to prevent re-occurrence are carried out in a timely manner.
  • Provide Technical support to all workshop personnel, and where required make key decisions.
  • Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with Score (Energy) Ltd policies, procedures and work instructions.
  • Embrace continuous improvement exercises and endeavour to improve efficiency, profitability, quality and delivery performance at all times.
  • Responsible for ensuring that Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality and general housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
  • Liaise with Process Improvement Lead to discuss programming requirements, tooling usage, personnel efficiencies, internal MFR costs and put actions in place where necessary.
  • Responsible for conducting all workshop appraisals within the allocated time frame.
  • Deal with the day-to-day personnel issues, i.e. Timekeeping, Work Ethic, Grievances, Disciplinary issues etc.
  • Ensuring all Machine Shop Job Cards are completed correctly.
  • Communicate with Production Management on a regular basis with regards to any technical, personnel or resource issues.
  • Monitor, check & approve all machine and operator D365 scanning hours and ensure they match bookings.
  • Responsible for the safety of all workshop personnel.
  • Ensure that all Company Health, Safety & Environmental procedures and policies are being adhered to at all times in the workshop.
  • Responsible for the communication of all safety related toolbox talks, risk assessments and all other Score Group HSE&Q initiatives / bulletins.
  • Responsible for compiling, checking and issuing of all toolbox talks or risk assessments specific to the department.
  • Responsible for ensuring departmental quality is maintained to the highest possible standard and INC’s/CC’s are kept to an absolute minimum.
  • Responsible for the general housekeeping of the workshop and surrounding areas.
  • Encouraging the use of and participation in the Score Group HSE, Quality and continuous improvement initiatives, i.e. ISL’s, START cards, QA Card Audits etc.
  • Training and Developing staff and carrying out staff appraisals.
  • Endeavour to meet all Management Safety, Environmental and Quality Goals & Objectives.
  • Reporting and participation in the investigation of any near misses or incidents within the facility and implementation of any preventative actions resulting.
  • Assist with any LRQA and/or client audits from a departmental standpoint.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Machining Apprenticeship (or equivalent)
  • Machining SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
  • HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Experience in running a machine shop / CNC machine shop
  • Good Communication & Leadership skills
  • Good Problem solving and Analytical behaviour
  • Good Technical, commercial and organisational skills
  • Previous supervisory experience in a Machine shop environment
