As such we have created a Monitored Professional Development Scheme (MPDS) that is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).
As a valued member of our experienced Engineering team, you will pursue a four-year IMechE accredited MPDS dedicated training plan which, in addition to gaining experience and competence in a variety of engineering tasks, will include experience in practical and commercial departments to prepare you for the application for professional Chartered Engineer (CEng) / Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status qualification.
Following the four-year programme you will be a fully qualified engineer and have the opportunity to continue your career development across the Group both within the UK and with the potential for international secondments to support our global organisation.
These positions are currently available within our Score Europe valve division facilities in Peterhead, Scotland and Brighouse, England. The MPDS will be the same for both locations with the day-to-day duties out lined in the “primary responsibilities” below.
What we are looking for
We’re looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated graduates who have achieved MEng or BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering, who can work on their own and alongside our experienced Engineering team, solving the complex technical issues associated with valves and related products.

Primary Responsibilities
- Design reviews including liaising with clients.
- Failure analysis including improvement recommendations.
- Materials review and selection.
- Component re-design including the utilisation of Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Design and verification of bespoke integrity solutions including the utilisation of FEA.
- Development of procedures for offshore/onsite implementation of Engineered Solutions
- Control valve sizing calculations
- Control valve trim design
- Research and Development Projects
- Repurposing Studies
Qualifications
MEng or BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering (graduated or due to graduate 2024) is essential.
Experience
- Previous experience solving mechanical issues either employed or as a hobby is desirable.
- Previous work experience is preferred (doesn’t have to be directly relevant to discipline).
Behaviours and skills
- Motivation and commitment to continue to learn and develop within an MPDS.
- Goo oral and written communication skills.
- A good team worker who is supportive, adaptable, accepts challenge and has a pro-active attitude.
- Keen problem solver with a mechanical aptitude.
