We are seeking an experienced charitable fundraiser who can work with the Score a Bed team in their mission of tackling homelessness and bed poverty by giving those without a bed a good night’s sleep. You’ll be supporting small, local charities that deliver targeted initiatives. Can you help?
Your contribution will help Score a Bed build the funding needed to deliver lasting change. By strengthening our fundraising, you will directly support the provision of safe, comfortable beds for adults and, crucially, children living in poverty. Reliable funding allows us to respond more quickly to need, support more frontline charities, and plan ahead with confidence.
Your work will help provide a good night’s sleep to people who need it the most, resulting in better health and wellbeing, improved learning, and greater opportunity.
What are we looking for?
- Experience in charity or non-profit fundraising, with an interest in helping organisations grow their income and impact
- Familiarity with one or more fundraising approaches, such as trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, community fundraising, individual giving, events or campaigns
- Comfortable thinking strategically about fundraising priorities, while also enjoying a practical, hands-on role
- Strong communication skills and the ability to tell a clear, compelling story about why our work matters
- Enjoys building positive relationships with funders, partners and supporters
- Happy working with a small, friendly team and collaborating closely with the Founder and other volunteers
- Keen to work alongside the marketing and communications volunteer to link fundraising with campaigns and events
- Organised, proactive and able to manage your time independently
- Motivated by social impact, with empathy for adults and children affected by poverty and homelessness
What will you be doing?
We are looking for an experienced and proactive fundraiser to support, advise, and enable the Score a Bed Foundation to grow our impact and help more people affected by bed poverty and homelessness. Score a Bed works with small, local charities across the UK to make sure people have a proper bed to sleep in. This is something many of us take for granted, but too many people have to live without. By funding beds and essential sleep items, we help our partner organisations deliver practical, immediate support that can make a real difference to someone’s life.
As our volunteer fundraiser, you’ll work closely with the Founder and wider team to help shape and deliver our fundraising activity. This will include developing a realistic fundraising strategy, exploring new income opportunities (such as events, corporate support, community fundraising or individual giving), and helping us turn good ideas into action. This is a hands-on and collaborative role, ideal for someone who enjoys both planning and doing. Your contribution will directly help small charities on the ground and play an important part in ensuring more people can experience the dignity and comfort of a good night’s sleep.
