This is a part time post and the salary will be pro-rata to the number of hours worked. The role operates on a rolling rota of 4 shifts on and 4 off, alternating day and back shifts including weekends.

Community Alarms are currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a mobile attendant providing reassurance and support to vulnerable people living in the community. You will be required to work throughout West Dunbartonshire, providing assistance to tenants within their own homes, as well as dealing with routine calls and the installation of community alarm equipment. The mobile attendants are required to work both individually and as part of a team. You will require some technical knowledge and must also be comfortable with providing practical/personal care.

The service uses assistive technology to support care packages and applicants should have an interest and understanding of technology and its use in relation to care services. The role involves the programming and installing of community alarm equipment. You will need to be willing to undertake training in order to competently install and program the equipment and have effective communication skills (both verbally and in writing), a positive professional attitude and the ability to build positive relationships with service users, follow processes and procedures and work as part of a team.

It is essential that you hold, or have the capacity to achieve, a SVQ Level 2 in Social Care or an equivalent qualification at SCQF Level 5 or above. You must also be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or achieve registration within 6 months of your start date.

This post is considered a Regulated Role with Children Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.

The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants are, therefore, not statutorily entitled to withhold information about convictions which for other purposes are "spent" under the provisions of the Act.
