This 23-month contract is aimed at recent graduates and includes full support for actuarial exams. The successful candidate will become a member of the UK actuarial profession. Key responsibilities include supporting the UK Reserving teamβs processes and delivering quality actuarial services to stakeholders.
- Assist in quarterly valuation and reporting for UK sourced business, including calculations on PROPHET and ensuring result consistency.
- Prepare management reports explaining quarterly results and variances.
- Support tasks such as setting up new treaties on PROPHET (protection and longevity).
- Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain processes, controls, and documentation in line with ERM principles and regulatory standards.
- Engage with SCORβs actuarial community and progress in actuarial exams.
- Build relationships across life & health functions.
Required experience & competencies
- No specific experience required; recent graduates are eligible. Prior insurance industry experience is a plus.
- Progress in actuarial exams or exemptions gained.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with data science tools (R, Python, Tableau) is advantageous.
- Experience with Prophet or similar software.
- Experience with MS Access and coding in Python or R.
- Strong technical skills, ability to meet deadlines, and deliver accurate work.
- Teamwork, self-motivation, proactive attitude, and excellent communication skills.
