As Senior Risk Manager within the London P&C Risk Management team, you will directly report to the UK P&C Chief Risk Officer and be a key contact for other Senior leaders in the UK. In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Proactively leading the continuous improvement of the Risk Management Framework for SCOR UK and SCOR Syndicate whilst meeting all internal/commercial and external/regulatory expectations in a timely manner.
  • Coordinating second-line assessment and monitoring of the control environment, as well as providing challenge to business stakeholders’ risk and control self-assessments across these entities.
  • Producing impactful reporting on Risk matters to local Executive and Board Committees.
  • Being a key contact person for first-line risk management stakeholders across the locally supported entities as well as the wider second-line SCOR Group Risk Management teams.
  • Leading or participating in Group Risk Management projects and analysis spanning various topics, in collaboration with other Risk colleagues from international teams.

Responsibilities
  • Risk management framework and monitoring
    • Assess and monitor the risk and control environment, in conjunction with the Group Operational Risk team.
    • Monitor exposures against risk appetite and limits.
    • Lead second-line risk assessments (qualitative and quantitative).
    • Track incidents and control issues. Perform root cause analysis.
    • Coordinate development of operational risk and other scenarios for local models.
    • Develop and maintain risk registers, dashboards and risk metrics using data analytics.
    • Support regulatory and audit requirements. Contribute to external risk reporting as requested.
  • Link with the business teams
    • Advise the business on risk identification, mitigation and controls, in coordination with the Group Operational risk team.
    • Challenge first-line risk assessments and promote strong risk culture.
  • Other ad-hoc and specific duties
    • Lead or contribute to local and Group risk projects.
    • Partnering with the business, identify and analyse emerging risks and trends.
Qualifications
  • Experience:
    • Proven working experience in a risk management position with increasing levels of accountability and extensive experience in Property & Casualty (re)insurance – ideally the London Market, both Company and Lloyd’s.
    • Knowledge of UK regulatory risk management principles (including but not limited to risk analysis, standards and practices of operational risk management, ORSA, governance).
  • Personal Competencies and Skills:
    • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
    • Ability to produce clear and concise reporting.
    • Excellent understanding of risk frameworks and governance.
    • Strong stakeholder management across functions.
    • Ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
    • Project management skills; able to deliver within deadlines, working in a change environment.
    • Collaborative and pragmatic solutions-oriented approach.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Education:
    • Risk Management qualification or Bachelors degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Economics, Actuarial Science or related.
