Scopely is looking for a QA Director to join our Stumble Guys team in Barcelona or Dundee hubs, working in a hybrid mode 3 days from the hub.
What You Will Do
- You will collaborate and coordinate with peers, senior management and external partners, to ensure operations are aligned with the departmental mission, values, and long‑term strategic goals as well as ensuring continued service improvements are implemented throughout the world on behalf of Scopely QA & Deployment.
- Lead an ambitious Mobile and Console QA & Deployment Program involving multiple disciplines, including Functionality QA, Dev QA, Live Ops QA, Build Distribution and Submissions across all platforms.
- Manage and provide leadership, technical expertise and career development for multiple QA & Deployment Project Owners; support the skillset growth across the QA & Deployment crafts, leading to higher value individual contributors and managers.
- Build on existing team metrics for measurement of quality and operational excellence and a consistent, regular process for assessment and improvements.
- Be an advocate and spokesperson for Automation Engineering efforts and AI implementation into QA pipelines.
- Clearly communicate issues, risks, concerns, and successes to stakeholders, partners, and executives.
- Establish and maintain strong communication with cross-functional teams across all disciplines for both internal and external development, QA and Localization partners.
- Work with the DPMs and Dev QA teams to create efficient plans, assignments, and schedules for associated quality functions.
- Continually improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the QA & Deployment effort by assessing current practices and incorporating new strategies.
- Be the internal advocate and spokesperson for all things QA & Deployment.
- Clearly communicate issues, risks, concerns, and successes to stakeholders.
- Hold fellow leaders accountable for including quality as an essential factor in product development.
- Contribute directly to performance evaluations of individuals and teams, compiling objective feedback that is channeled toward both personal and process improvement.
What We’re Looking For
- 10 + years as a quality assurance professional.
- 6 + years management experience in leading a team through a full game cycle.
- Excellent written/verbal communication in English.
- Experience in building and managing a QA organization that is responsible for end‑to‑end validation for a critical system or application.
- Experience working with External QA vendors: Deep understanding of Dev QA and external testing strategies, with the ability to influence change that achieves exceptional product quality.
- Experience working with remote teams and with a cross functional team that is distributed around the globe.
- Experience and ease in interfacing with Senior Management, working to develop and maintain strong, effective relationships across the organization.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multitask under pressure of hard deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience managing bug defect solutions & creating test plans.
- Strong understanding of software development (SDLC) practices & nomenclature, quality assurance techniques, frameworks and methodologies.
- Flexible and dynamic – quickly adapt to changing needs of the business.
- Good understanding of the current and evolving landscape of AI‑powered testing tools, and experience driving the transition from manual testing approaches to AI‑native.
- Business awareness - the ability to view situations from a business perspective.
- Proficient with setting up and navigating through bug database management, test case management tools, Google Docs, Google Sheets/Excel, and a build distribution management system (AppCenter), JIRA.
- Mobile Freemium/F2P gaming experience.
Bonus Points
- Experience with Console and PC deployment & compliance.
- Any experience with Localization, LQA, build distribution and submissions.
