Full time, fixed term for 3 months. Scope's Whitley Bay shop – 198 Whitley Road, Whitley Bay, NE26 2DN. As Temporary Shop Manager you’ll have autonomy to run your shop using your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. Every day will be different: from generating and processing stock to designing an eye‑catching window display, to recruiting and training our wonderful volunteers. You will have relevant experience in retail but a great attitude and willingness to learn is just as important.

As Temporary Shop Manager you’ll be passionate about retail and have a love of fashion with experience of running a shop, or you’ll be looking for a management role as the next step in your career.

Responsibilities

  • Running the shop and ensuring a high quality customer experience.
  • Managing stock, designing displays and running promotions.
  • Recruiting, training and supporting volunteer staff.
  • Maintaining accurate cash and sales records.
  • Ensuring visual merchandising standards and shop appearance.

Qualifications

  • Be commercial and have a can‑do attitude, always putting the customer’s needs first.
  • Be a dedicated team player with strong work ethic.
  • Have excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.

Working conditions

Scope Charity Shops are open every day. Full time hours are 35 hours a week, working five days out of seven. Part‑time vacancies are on a seven‑day rota. Some weekend and Bank Holiday cover is needed.
