The Accessibility and Disability Inclusion Specialist role is about making accessibility and disability inclusion part of everything we do at Scope. Supporting teams to design accessible content, services and environments. Facilitating engaging training and building strong relationships to influence positive change. The role will support in creating clear accountability so that removing barriers for disabled people becomes everyone’s responsibility.
Fixed term until July 2027, part time (28 hours a week)
Location: Based at Scope's London office (Here East Press Centre, 14 East Bay Lane, London, E15 2GW) or based at Scope's Leeds office at 3, Brewery Wharf, Dock St, Leeds LS10 1JF and also working from home.

The role
The Accessibility and Disability Inclusion Specialist ensures that accessibility and disability inclusion are embedded into everything Scope does.
You will
- Be the main expert on accessibility in the organisation.
- Support teams to create content and services that work for everyone.
- Work strategically and help to build an inclusive workplace and create accountability for accessibility across Scope. Your approach will be rooted in the social model of disability. The focus will be on removing barriers and enabling participation for all.

About You
We are looking for someone with knowledge of accessibility standards and best practice.
You’ll be someone who:
- Has experience reviewing content, documents and services to make sure they are accessible. You will also have experience designing and delivering engaging training and workshops.
- Be confident using accessibility tools and creating accessible content in formats such as Word, PowerPoint and web pages.
- Have a strong commitment to equity, inclusion and removing barriers for disabled people. Your approach will be based on the social model of disability
- Have strong communication skills and be able to explain accessibility in plain English.
- Be confident in building trusted relationships and working with a wide range of people. You will be able to influence, support and challenge colleagues at all levels. You will also have experience working across teams to help drive change.
- Have strong facilitation skills. You will be able to spot accessibility issues, analyse information and suggest practical solutions
