We’re working with one of the fastest-growing consumer crypto platforms globally, operating at extreme scale with hundreds of thousands of daily users and significant transaction volume. The team is small, high-performing, and ships to production daily. Engineers here own systems end-to-end and operate with high autonomy and responsibility.
The Role
You’ll design, build, and operate the cloud infrastructure layer underpinning payment flows, working closely with backend, compliance, and security teams to ensure systems are reliable, scalable, and audit-ready. This is not a pure SRE role, it’s a platform ownership role with real impact on production systems handling financial transactions.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Architect and operate multi-region, highly available cloud infrastructure for payments systems
- Own Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/CDK/Pulumi) across AWS environments
- Design secure networking for financial systems (VPCs, private networking, WAF, etc.)
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for high-frequency, safe production deployments
- Define and manage secrets + key management (KMS, HSM, rotation policies)
- Own observability (logging, tracing, metrics, alerting) for real-time payment flows
- Ensure compliance readiness (PCI-DSS, SOC2, audit logging, encryption)
- Design and test disaster recovery + failover systems (RTO/RPO ownership)
- Drive platform reliability (SLOs, runbooks, incident response, load testing)
- Partner with engineers to improve platform standards and developer experience
What They’re Looking For
Core Requirements
- Strong experience building production infrastructure in payments, fintech, or financial services
- Deep AWS expertise across compute, networking, storage, and security
- Strong Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Terraform or similar)
- Production experience with Kubernetes (EKS preferred)
- Experience operating event-driven systems (Kafka/Kinesis)
- Strong understanding of reliability, observability, and incident response
- Experience working in regulated environments (PCI, SOC2, etc.)
Nice to Have
- Experience with crypto infrastructure (nodes, wallets, etc.)
- Experience with HSMs or advanced key management
- Platform engineering / DevEx mindset (internal tooling, golden paths)
- Background in high-scale, low-latency systems
Why This Role
- Work on systems operating at real financial scale
- High ownership, low bureaucracy environment
- Direct impact on product used by hundreds of thousands of users
- Strong compensation with meaningful upside
This isn’t a typical DevOps role. You’ll be working on infrastructure that powers real money movement, real users, and high-throughput systems at scale. Small, high-calibre team, high ownership, and a product already operating at serious scale.
