Hours: Up to 40 hours/week, including 11-hour shifts on Saturday & Sunday

Rate: Standard hourly rate (in line with TV weekend rates)

We're looking for an experienced Podcast Producer to join our production team on a freelance basis. This role is ideal for someone passionate about audio storytelling and journalism, and confident working to high editorial standards. The producer will play a key role in crafting compelling podcast episodes - from planning through to publishing.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan & Coordinate: Plan and schedule podcast episodes, book guests, and maintain content calendars
  • Research: Research topics and develop episode outlines. Ensure all content meets the highest journalistic standards for accuracy, balance, and sourcing
  • Production & Editing: Record, edit, and mix podcast episodes using Adobe Audition. Maintain high-quality audio standards and engaging content flow. Write introductions, segues, and show notes
  • Guest Management: Coordinate with guests, including scheduling and preparing them for recordings
  • Publishing & Distribution: Publish and distribute episodes across major platforms (Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts). Follow established publishing workflows (full training provided)
  • Quality Control: Review and ensure consistency across all episodes, including audio quality, editorial accuracy, and tone

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in podcast production, especially interview-based formats
  • Proficiency with Adobe Audition
  • Strong editorial judgment and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work weekends - Saturday and Sunday shifts are fixed at 11 hours each
  • Flexibility to work the remaining 18 hours during the week, as scheduled (not self-scheduled)
