We're looking for an experienced Podcast Producer to join our production team on a freelance basis. This role is ideal for someone passionate about audio storytelling and journalism, and confident working to high editorial standards. The producer will play a key role in crafting compelling podcast episodes - from planning through to publishing.
Responsibilities:
- Plan & Coordinate: Plan and schedule podcast episodes, book guests, and maintain content calendars
- Research: Research topics and develop episode outlines. Ensure all content meets the highest journalistic standards for accuracy, balance, and sourcing
- Production & Editing: Record, edit, and mix podcast episodes using Adobe Audition. Maintain high-quality audio standards and engaging content flow. Write introductions, segues, and show notes
- Guest Management: Coordinate with guests, including scheduling and preparing them for recordings
- Publishing & Distribution: Publish and distribute episodes across major platforms (Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts). Follow established publishing workflows (full training provided)
- Quality Control: Review and ensure consistency across all episodes, including audio quality, editorial accuracy, and tone
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in podcast production, especially interview-based formats
- Proficiency with Adobe Audition
- Strong editorial judgment and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work weekends - Saturday and Sunday shifts are fixed at 11 hours each
- Flexibility to work the remaining 18 hours during the week, as scheduled (not self-scheduled)
