We are looking for a Governance & Oversight Specialist to join a high-performing Network Services team within a large enterprise technology environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in technology governance, risk, compliance or audit who has an interest in network infrastructure and enjoys working with stakeholders across complex organisations.
This role is based in Chester and requires attendance in the office 5 days per week.
The Role
As a Governance & Oversight Specialist, you will help ensure that Network Services operate in line with internal governance standards, regulatory requirements and enterprise risk frameworks. You'll work closely with technical teams, compliance functions and key stakeholders to support audits, manage risk issues and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Support governance, risk and compliance activities across Network Services.
- Assist with internal and external audits, coordinating evidence collection and remediation activities.
- Track and manage issues, risks and action plans through to resolution.
- Produce governance reports, dashboards and management information.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, standards and regulatory requirements.
- Build strong relationships with technical teams and key stakeholders.
- Escalate risks and issues appropriately, providing practical recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to improve governance processes and controls.
Skills & Experience
- 3-5 years' experience in governance, risk, compliance, audit or technology controls within a large enterprise environment.
- Good understanding of WAN/LAN networking technologies and associated technology risks.
- Experience supporting audits, compliance assessments or risk management activities.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with experience producing reports and analysing data.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Access and Visio.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement approach.
Desirable
- Previous experience within banking or financial services.
- Knowledge of enterprise governance frameworks and regulatory environments.
- Experience working alongside infrastructure or network engineering teams.
