We are looking for a talented engineer to develop innovative solutions that simplify the management, configuration, and support of a complex and diverse infrastructure. This role is critical in ensuring a stable and efficient environment.
The successful candidate will contribute to the development of provisioning systems and tooling that support the platform. This includes APIs, application servers, and a command-based user interface, enabling system administrators, developers, and support teams to build and manage the configuration of both physical and virtual Linux machines.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Strong programming skills in Python and Perl, with experience writing secure, testable, and robust code.
- Proven experience working on large, modular projects (10k+ lines) in a collaborative development environment.
- Knowledge of SQL and database programming.
- Familiarity with modern development tools and practices, including Git, Jenkins, Agile, and Continuous Integration.
- Ability to work collaboratively, including conducting code reviews, writing specifications, and producing clear documentation.
- Expert-level knowledge of Linux, with a strong understanding of UNIX system calls.
- Experience in Back End server development for state-based distributed systems with high availability APIs.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in large, multinational enterprise environments, with strong communication skills in globally distributed teams.
- Background in designing, implementing, and supporting large-scale IaaS platforms, ideally with VMware.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, operating systems, networking, and storage.
- Familiarity with additional programming languages such as Erlang or Prolog.
