ESP has an exciting opportunity for an Area Sales Manager for Scotland to join our Sales Team. The Area Sales Manager is responsible for demand creation across the ESP company portfolio and for growing market share by increasing sales with electrical wholesalers (60%) and contractors (40%) in the region.
Responsibilities
- Conduct territory sales and push/pull all ESP product offers into distributors, generating demand with contractors.
- Support local contractors through pro‑active visits, joint sales calls, trade counter mornings and product training.
- Provide product demonstrations and presentations highlighting ESP products’ features and benefits.
- Build and maintain client relationships, keeping a strong pipeline.
- Secure customer agreement that presents ESP solutions as added value aligned with commercial requirements.
- Identify opportunities within existing and new accounts, developing them strategically within ESP’s commercial trading philosophy.
- Manage a scheduled visit plan, using reports and information to maximise customer interactions.
- Keep product knowledge current and stay aware of market trends and competitors’ products.
- Handle all administrative activities, ensuring Outlook calendar and CRM are updated daily.
Qualifications
- Full and preferably clean driving licence (points must be disclosed at interview).
- Computer literacy – proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and other Microsoft packages.
- Proven, successful record in specification sales and demand creation.
- Strong rapport‑building and communication skills.
- Excellent problem‑solving ability and strong presentation skills.
- High work ethic, flexibility and willingness to travel away from home.
- Previous specification‑based role experience preferred but not essential.
Additional Information
This role requires regular daily travel, with occasional overnight stays. Benefits include the option to purchase up to 5 extra days annual leave.
