Bank Support Worker – Children’s Residential Home (Worksop) Candidates requiring sponsorship will be considered for up to 20 hours per week if experienced in UK based therapeutic children's residential work NVQ Level 3 preferred but not essential. Previous experience in children’s residential care is required. About the Role We are recruiting Bank Support Workers to join our 2 bedroomed therapeutic children’s residential home in Worksop. As a Bank Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high‑quality, trauma‑informed care to young people living in our children’s residential setting. This flexible role is ideal for individuals with previous children’s residential experience who want to make a meaningful impact while working bank hours within a supportive, therapeutic environment. Key Responsibilities Therapeutic Care & Support • Provide day‑to‑day care in line with care plans and risk assessments • Build trusting relationships through empathy and consistency • Support emotional regulation using restorative approaches • Encourage participation in routines, education and activities • Respond to behaviour with curiosity and reflection • Support life‑skills development and independence Safeguarding & Wellbeing • Prioritise the safety and wellbeing of children at all times • Recognise, report and record safeguarding concerns • Maintain professional boundaries and act as a safe adult • Follow Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards Teamwork & Professional Practice • Work collaboratively with colleagues and professionals • Contribute to handovers, meetings and reflective practice • Engage in supervision and ongoing training • Follow all policies, procedures and therapeutic models • Support with maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming home Recording & Reporting • Maintain accurate daily logs, incident reports and key records • Contribute to care planning, risk assessments and progress updates • Support a reflective and learning‑focused team culture PERSON SPECIFICATION Qualifications & Experience • NVQ Level 3 preferred but not essential • Previous children’s residential experience required • Understanding of trauma‑informed practice (training provided) Knowledge, Skills & Attributes • Ability to build meaningful relationships with children • Calm, patient and reflective approach • Strong communication and teamwork skills • Emotional resilience and empathy • Commitment to safeguarding and professional development • Flexible approach to bank hours and rota needs Benefits & Support • £13.50 for unqualified –£14 per hour for qualified • £70 per sleep‑in (where applicable) • Weekly fruit basket delivery • Ongoing training and career development • Confidential Employee Assistance Programme (EAP): – 24/7 telephone counselling – Emotional and wellbeing support – Online resources including Wisdom AI
