The Education and Semi-Professional Football Academy (ESPFA) are looking for a Sports Tutor to join our education team, to work at one of our education and football study programme academy hubs in Greater Manchester. At the ESPFA we are extremely passionate about education and the academic development of our students. Education has to be the primary endpoint for all of our students.
The programme, for 16-19 year olds, has a weekly timetable of education lessons and football training as well as competing in ESPFA league and cup on Thursday afternoons. The successful candidate will be required to work from 9am - 5pm on a Monday and Wednesday on-site, as well as remotely 9-1pm on a Thursday to complete administrative tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Deliver sessions to young people aged 16-19 as part of the hub's sports-based study programme.
- Work both flexibly and independently, but also as part of a team.
- Deliver sport qualifications at Level 3 in a group setting.
- Liaise with ESPFA management staff on the progress of students throughout the academic year.
- Communicate with our education providers throughout the year regarding courses and educational material.
- Undertake any safeguarding duties that may occur throughout the academic year.
- Desirable but not essential to have previous experience of teaching Sports at Level 3.
- Hold a relevant teaching qualification and have excellent communication skills.
- Teaching qualification PTTLS/DTTLS/DTE (Diploma in Education) essential, PGCE desired.
- Valid driving licence.
- The ability to administer emergency first aid.
- Be naturally confident and able to control a classroom of 16-22 students.
