Overview
Main Purpose of the Role: We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Data Apprenticeship Trainer to join our specialist training provider, delivering the Data Technician Level 3 and Data Analyst Level 4 apprenticeship standards with a unique focus on the sports and fitness industry. This is a blended delivery role involving remote teaching, and face-to-face workshops, helping apprentices to contextualise data analytics in fitness-focused environments such as gyms, leisure centres, and sports clubs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, interactive training sessions both remotely and face-to-face
- Coach and assess learners through the full apprenticeship journey from onboarding to End Point Assessment (EPA)
- Tailor delivery to reflect the fitness and sports context, using case studies, live examples, and real employer data
- Deliver from scheme of work, session plans, and digital resources aligned to curriculum and awarding body standards
- Mark workshop tasks and provide high-quality developmental feedback
- Support learners to apply theory to workplace roles, encouraging reflection and professional development
- Maintain accurate learner records using e-portfolio systems and MIS platforms
- Stay current with developments in data analytics, education technology, and the sports/fitness industry
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience in delivering Data Technician and/or Data Analyst apprenticeship standards (or equivalent Level 3–4 data training)
- Experience in adult education, work-based learning, or FE/HE sector
- Strong knowledge of tools such as Excel, Power BI, SQL, Python or similar analytical software
- Ability to break down technical content for mixed-ability learners
- Experience of remote delivery using tools like Zoom, MS Teams, and digital learning platforms
- Effective classroom management and learner engagement strategies
- Knowledge of Ofsted, safeguarding, and quality assurance processes
- Exceptional communication, planning, and organisational skills
- Access to own transport for face-to-face delivery (as required)
