National Account Executive - Tesco
About the role
Reporting to the Senior National Account Manager, you will provide day‑to‑day commercial and administrative support to the team managing Tesco, our largest UK customer.
This is an ideal first step into FMCG sales for someone who is commercially curious, numerically confident and keen to learn how a major grocery account is managed.
You will work closely with the Senior National Account Manager, receiving regular coaching, feedback and exposure to customer planning and commercial decision‑making.
The role offers a strong foundation for future progression into broader account management positions.
This role is ideal for someone at an early stage of their FMCG career who has already gained some exposure to the industry, whether through a placement or some post‑graduate experience.
We would also welcome candidates with transferable commercial experience gained within FMCG who are looking to move into Sales.
We do not provide international relocation support for this role. This role is eligible to work from home 1 day a week.
Responsibilities
- Ownership of all retailer administration for the Tesco Account Team, driving a right first time and attention to detail mentality.
- Support promotional planning, pricing changes, product submissions and range updates.
- Maintain customer and internal systems, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
- Produce and analyse regular sales and promotional performance reports.
- Support the management of pricing, invoicing, claims and accruals.
- Assist with customer presentations, internal reviews and meeting preparation.
- Work with Supply Chain and Demand Planning to support forecasting, availability and product launches.
- Use approved AI and digital tools to improve reporting, analysis, presentations and administrative processes, while maintaining accuracy and data confidentiality.
- Identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve the efficiency of the account team.
Experience you’ll bring
- Previous experience in FMCG working with multiple grocers would be beneficial.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to identify key messages from data.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Confidence using Microsoft Excel and Power Point.
- An interest in using AI and digital tools to work more effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Degree-level education, or equivalent professional experience.
