We are now recruiting for a Senior Medical Editor to join Sciterion.
The role
To ensure the superior quality of content and production materials developed by Sciterion that are clear, concise, and accurate in terms of both language and scientific content and are delivered on time and budget.
Lead the editorial team to effectively support delivery of best-in-class materials with a high level of quality. Establish and maintain an open and collaborative approach to work, individually and within the team.
Core duties and responsibilities
- Demonstrate strong medical editing skills across a range of outputs, including print, presentations, and audio-visual materials
- Ensure linguistic and scientific accuracy for content produced
- Lead the development and maintenance of account-specific style guides
- Proofread and edit to align materials to specified style guides
- Adhere to time and budget parameters and advise of any out-of-scope work
- Ensure editorial work meets briefs supplied
- Plan and manage team workloads and optimal allocation of resourcing
- Ensure the wider team understands the editorial role and value of every project
- Work collaboratively with Scientific Services, Medical Writing, Client Services, and the Creative teams to ensure content accuracy and timely delivery
- Build familiarity with client products, requirements, therapy areas, and portfolios
- Develop an understanding of industry codes of practice/legislation
- Develop, monitor, and promote processes for delivering excellence in the medical editorial role
- Develop, monitor, and promote quality check processes and procedures
Experience
- Ideally a graduate with a strong interest in science and medicine
- Experience in healthcare, medical education, communications, or publication sectors
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with PowerPoint is essential
