We are hiring an Associate to join our global legal team in Manchester, providing legal advice and services to alternative asset managers and financing providers, focusing on M&A and adjacent transactional matters.

Base pay range

This range is provided by Scissero Law. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate M&A pipeline documents, such as non-disclosure agreements, offer letters, consulting agreements, reliance/non-reliance letters, financial advisory and indemnity letters and other engagement letters
  • Directly counsel clients, providing valuable real-world legal experience
  • Monitor project timelines, communicate updates to clients and maintain strong organisational control over legal workflows
  • Support the drafting, reviewing and management of legal documentation for corporate transactions
  • Ensure strict adherence to legal compliance and regulations
  • Engage with the development team and employ legal technology tools to boost the efficiency and precision of legal services

Key Performance Indicators

  • Efficiency on document review (volume and turnaround times)
  • Quality of document drafts demonstrating understanding of legal substance
  • Clear and concise communication and engagement with clients and partners; understanding and use of legal technology tools

Skills and Qualifications

  • Qualification to practice law in applicable jurisdiction (not mandatory)
  • Fluency in English including ability to explain legal concepts to non-lawyers
  • International legal experience (academic and/or professional)
  • Experience as a transactional lawyer within an international corporate law/M&A setting
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, analytical ability and problem-solving acumen
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team on a remote/global basis
