As part of our growth strategy, we are seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Business Development Manager to accelerate revenue growth, expand strategic partnerships, and position Sciom as a trusted global partner in PV and pharmaceutical support services.

Role Summary

Sciom Limited is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Business Development Manager to drive commercial growth across our pharmacovigilance, CDMO, regulatory affairs, audit management & validation services. The successful candidate will have significant experience in selling outsourced pharmaceutical services, ideally within pharmacovigilance, CRO/CDMO, regulatory consulting, or drug safety technology environments. The role requires a strategic commercial leader with strong industry networks, proven revenue generation capability, and the ability to build long-term partnerships with pharmaceutical and biotech clients globally.

This is a high-impact leadership role suited for an entrepreneurial professional who thrives in a scale-up environment and can independently build pipelines, close strategic deals, and contribute to Sciom's long-term growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to drive revenue growth across all services provided by SCIOM.
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline through prospecting, lead generation, networking, and strategic partnerships.
  • Research and analyze market opportunities, identify potential customers, develop business proposals, and negotiate business deals.
  • Identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities across pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, CRO, and healthcare sectors globally.
  • Lead end-to-end deal lifecycle including opportunity assessment, proposal development, pricing, negotiation, and contract closure.
  • Achieve and exceed annual revenue, sales, and portfolio growth targets aligned with business objectives.
  • Establish and manage strategic partnerships with pharma companies, CROs, CDMOs, technology providers, distributors, and consulting organizations.
  • Drive market expansion across UK, EU, US, Canada and emerging regions through targeted commercial initiatives.
  • Build and maintain senior-level client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to stakeholders such as Directors, QPs/QPPVs, and Regulatory Heads.
  • Conduct market intelligence, competitor analysis, and monitor regulatory and industry trends to support strategic decision-making.
  • Attend client site meetings and business conferences and ensure that all required information is received from the client for timely execution of business agreements.
  • Prepare commercial dashboards, pipeline forecasts, MIS reports, and portfolio trackers for leadership review.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (PV, RA, QA, operations, technical) to deliver compliant, commercially viable solutions and client proposals.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, pricing strategy, KPI development, and executive-level discussions on business growth and expansion.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 10-12+ years of experience in Business Development, Corporate Development, or Strategic Partnerships.
  • Leadership within Pharmacovigilance, CRO/CDMO services, Regulatory Affairs, Audit & Compliance consulting and Validation services.
