SCINERGY Recruitment are recruiting for a Trainee Operations Technician to join a biomass power station near Rotherham, South Yorkshire. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to build a career within the power generation sector. The role would suit a candidate who has recently completed an engineering apprenticeship, or someone with an engineering-related degree or qualification who is keen to gain hands-on experience in a live power station environment.
The successful candidate will work as part of a shift operations team, supporting the safe, reliable and efficient running of the plant. Full training will be provided, with the opportunity to develop knowledge of power generation, plant operations, permit systems and control room processes.
The role will involve:
- Monitoring plant performance and supporting day-to-day operations across the site
- Carrying out routine plant checks, inspections and basic operational tasks
- Supporting plant start-up, shutdown and operational changes
- Assisting with first-line fault finding and reporting plant defects
