Mechanical Technician – CCGT Power Station

SCINERGY Recruitment are recruiting for a Mechanical Technician to join the maintenance team of a modern CCGT power station in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire. This role focuses on delivering safe, reliable mechanical maintenance across the plant, supporting availability, efficiency, and long-term asset performance. The successful candidate will work closely with operations and engineering teams to ensure all mechanical equipment is maintained to a high standard.

  • Planned and reactive mechanical maintenance on rotating and static plant equipment
  • Maintenance and overhaul of pumps, valves, gearboxes, compressors, heat exchangers and associated systems
  • Supporting maintenance activities across turbine auxiliaries and balance of plant
  • Preparing method statements and risk assessments for maintenance activities
  • Managing and supervising contractors during outages and routine works
  • Completing maintenance activities in line with site procedures, permits and isolation requirements
  • Updating maintenance records and work orders within the CMMS
  • Supporting outages, inspections and major overhauls
  • Maintaining high standards of health, safety, environmental compliance and housekeeping

This is a days based role, Monday to Friday.

A recognised mechanical qualification at HNC or NVQ Level 3 or higher along with a time served apprenticeship.

Mechanical maintenance experience in a power generation or a heavy industrial/process environment (e.g. CCGT, CHP, EfW, refinery, petrochemical). Marine Engineers from the Royal or Merchant Navy would also suit.

Strong mechanical fault-finding and maintenance experience across plant equipment.

Experience working with contractors and supporting outage activities.

Competitive salary up to circa £50,000.

A South East allowance of £2,000.

Bonus up to 17.5%.
