SCINERGY Recruitment are seeking experienced Shift Operations Technicians / Power Plant Operators to join a modern power generation facility in Cornwall supporting safe and efficient plant performance.
The Role
- Youll operate and monitor key plant systems via DCS/SCADA, manage safe start-up and shutdown of equipment, and ensure the site meets operational, safety and environmental standards.
- The role also includes first-line mechanical and electrical maintenance, responding to plant conditions, and supporting planned shutdowns.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing the safe and efficient start up, shut down and running of turbines, generators, pumps and auxiliary plant machinery
- Monitoring performance and adjusting processes in real time
- First-line fault finding and basic maintenance
- Working to permits, isolations and safety procedures
- Keeping accurate logs, data and operational reports
What Youll Need
- Experience in power generation or similar heavy process environment (Petrochem, water treatment, refinery etc)
- NVQ/HNC/apprenticeship in mechanical, electrical or process engineering
- Ideally knowledge of steam cycle, rotating plant or high-pressure systems
- Strong safety awareness and ability to work 12-hour shifts
- Marine Engineers (Merchant/Royal Navy) also considered at LET/PO/3rd/2nd Engineer level
