A leading energy organisation is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Technician to support the maintenance and operation of its gas storage facility near Basingstoke. This role focuses on ensuring process control and safety systems operate safely and efficiently through planned and reactive maintenance on all site instrumentation and electrical plant.
The Role
- Identifying, scheduling, carrying out, and recording routine and non-routine maintenance checks and repairs.
- Carrying out routine servicing of various types of process control instrumentation equipment, such as transmitters, controllers, and analysers.
- Carrying out equipment isolations to permit requirements, ensuring that equipment is safe to perform maintenance on.
- Assisting during the installation and commissioning of new plant facilities.
- Liaising with and supervising contractors whilst working on company sites to ensure they perform work to acceptable standards.
- Responding to 24-hour call-outs and undertaking some weekend, evening, and bank holiday work as required.
What You'll Need
- A time served apprenticeship along with a minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience on instrumentation, control systems and electrical plant.
- Qualifications at HNC/ONC/BTEC level 3 in electrical/electronic/measurement & control or similar.
- Experience gained in a heavy continuous process environment such as a refinery, power station, paper mill, manufacturing plant, water sector.
- The ability to work on your own or with others with the minimum of supervision, assuming overall responsibility for maintenance tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to cope with pressured situations.
- IT Literate.
