This is an excellent opportunity to take a key leadership role at an operational site, ensuring best practice across safety, health, environment, quality and compliance.This role is responsible for providing safety leadership across the site, managing safe systems of work, monitoring compliance with relevant ISO standards and supporting environmental and permitting obligations. You will work closely with the Plant Manager, site leadership team, central SHEQS team and regulatory bodies to maintain a no-compromise approach to safety and compliance.Managing and continually improving site safety systems, procedures and safe systems of workMonitoring health, safety and environmental performance in line with legislation, company procedures and best practiceSupporting environmental compliance, including permit obligations and liaison with regulatorsLeading accident, incident and near miss investigations, identifying root causes and improvement actionsPreparing for internal and external audits relating to ISO, safety and compliance standardsCarrying out site inspections and audits, reviewing risk assessments, method statements and H&S documentationProducing reports, monitoring KPIs and working with site teams, contractors and external stakeholders to drive continuous improvementTo be considered for this role, you should have:Experience managing health and safety within a heavy engineering / process environment e.g. power station, chemical plant, waste treatment, refinery, water industryA NEBOSH qualification or equivalentStrong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practiceAwareness of relevant standards including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001Experience using root cause analysis tools to support investigationsStrong data management and interpretation skills, including Excel or similar systemsExcellent leadership, communication and influencing skillsThe ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy, regulated site environmentWhat's on offer:An excellent basic salary depending on experienceA performance related bonusHealthcare cash planCompany pension37.5hr week Monday to FridayOpportunity to join an established Energy from Waste facility in a key site leadership roleFor further information or to apply please contact Steve or Callum at SCINERGY Recruitment on 02030 386 115 or emailTPBN1_UKTJ
