SCINERGY Recruitment are recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Engineering & Maintenance department of a CCGT power station in the Nottingham / Lincolnshire area. This role focuses on the effective planning, management and delivery of engineering and maintenance solutions to CCGT Mechanical systems to meet business targets. The successful candidate will work to deliver continuous improvement in plant reliability, availability and efficiency whilst minimising cost.
The role will involve:
- Developing, implementing and executing station engineering, operational and maintenance strategies
- Fault diagnosis and using techniques such as 'root cause analysis' to identify plant issues
- Leading and implementing Mechanical plant modifications and engineering improvements
- Producing contract specifications, evaluating and awarding contracts
- Direct supervision of multi-skilled craft persons and contractors where appropriate
- Managing major work programmes, resources and budgets
- Ensuring the design and condition of Mechanical Assets do not present a risk to the environment or health and safety
- Utilising predictive and preventative maintenance techniques to optimise O&M strategies
- Maintaining logs, manuals, records and operating procedures
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- A relevant technical qualification at degree/HND/HNC level in mechanical engineering or similar
- Proven experience in the maintenance of power generation plants or large rotating machinery
- An IOSH Managing Safely Certificate (NEBOSH Certificate is desirable)
- Experience in producing technical specifications and managing service/maintenance contracts
- Competence in budget development and management
- A comprehensive knowledge of Asset Management techniques
