SCINERGY Recruitment are recruiting a Mechanical Engineer to join an established Energy from Waste plant in Glasgow.

Working alongside the Electrical and C&I Engineers, you will lead mechanical engineering and maintenance activities to maximise plant availability, protect asset value and support the site's safety, environmental and financial targets.

  • Roles and Responsibilities
  • Leading and supporting the site's Mechanical Technicians
  • Planning and delivering preventative, planned and reactive maintenance
  • Fault-finding and maintenance across pumps, valves, gearboxes, compressors and conveyors
  • Managing statutory inspections and compliance with PSSR, LOLER and PUWER
  • Supporting planned outages, shutdowns and plant improvement projects
  • Maintaining accurate records through the CMMS
  • Managing contractors, site stores and the mechanical workshop
  • Working closely with operations, electrical and C&I teams

Experience and Qualifications

  • Mechanical engineering apprenticeship with an HNC/HND or equivalent
  • Maintenance / engineering experience within heavy process environments - power generation, steel making, petrochemical, refining etc
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical plant and maintenance practices
  • Experience using a CMMS and working within relevant safety legislation
