A career opportunity has arisen for a Sales Engineer with a strong background in physics or light measurement to join one of the UK’s leading photonics equipment suppliers. This is the perfect role for an experienced, solutions-driven Sales Engineer looking to join an established and successful business, recognised for its expertise and ability to deliver innovative photonics solutions.
The Company
The company is a leading supplier of photonics equipment, including instruments for measuring light and the optical properties of materials, photometry systems, lasers, opto-mechanics, nano-positioning equipment, optics, and spectroscopy and spectral imaging solutions. As technical specialists, they have built a successful international business across the UK, Europe, and North America, delivering high-quality and often bespoke solutions to a wide range of clients.
The Role
The Sales Engineer will join the Photonics Products Group and will be responsible for both sales and post-sales support of light measurement and spectroscopy instrumentation. This is a field-based role covering the UK and Ireland, requiring travel to customer sites (on average two days per week).
Requirements
- A BSc, MPhys, MSci (or equivalent) in Physics or a related engineering discipline
- At least 2 years’ relevant industry experience
- A proven track record in technical or consultative sales
- Strong communication skills and the ability to understand and solve customer challenges
- Experience in photonics sales is highly desirable. However, candidates with a background in technical, consultative sales and a solid understanding of photonics (e.g. light measurement, spectroscopy) are also encouraged to apply.
