Production Engineer in Maidenhead

As a Scientifica Engineer, you'll help manufacture precision instruments used by scientists and researchers around the world. Our products support cutting‑edge neuroscience research and contribute to advancements in life science, helping researchers better understand the brain and neurological conditions.

You’ll join our Engineering team in Maidenhead, playing a key role in the build, integration and continuous improvement of our electro‑mechanical product range at the heart of our manufacturing operation. This is a hands‑on role, combining desk‑based engineering with time on the production floor, where you’ll see the direct impact of your work.

What you'll be doing

• You'll act as the link between design, suppliers and assembly, helping ensure products are consistently delivered to a high standard.
• You'll work closely with colleagues across the business to solve problems, implement improvements and support products from prototype through to production.
• Your day‑to‑day will include:
• Supporting the assembly, integration and continuous improvement of sophisticated electro‑mechanical instruments used by scientists and researchers worldwide.
• Investigating manufacturing and quality issues and driving them through to resolution.
• Designing, maintaining and improving CAD models, drawings and engineering documentation.
• Managing engineering changes and maintaining configuration control.
• Creating build manuals and production documentation to support efficient assembly.
• Designing and implementing tooling, jigs and fixtures.
• Supporting testing, fault‑finding and system integration.
• Working closely with production, project and operations teams to improve performance and delivery.

Who you are

You're a hands‑on engineer who enjoys solving real‑world manufacturing challenges. Equally comfortable reviewing CAD models, troubleshooting issues on the production floor or collaborating with colleagues across the business, you're someone who takes ownership and looks for better ways of doing things.

You’ll bring experience in several of the following:

• Electro‑mechanical assembly and manufacturing.
• SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
• BOM management and engineering documentation.
• Root cause analysis and problem solving.
• Product and process improvement.

You’ll stand out if you also have experience with electronics testing, Lean manufacturing, production tooling or MRP systems. You'll see the direct impact of your ideas, build strong relationships across the business and play an important role in shaping how our products are manufactured. You'll work on complex electro‑mechanical products used by leading universities, research institutes and life science organisations worldwide, combining practical engineering with continuous improvement in a collaborative environment where your ideas are valued.

• £35,000-£45,000 (dependent on knowledge, skills and experience).
