As a specialist recruitment partner, Scitex Recruitment is proud to be working with a respected organization in the building services, commissioning and ICA space to recruit an experienced Senior Associate (Building Services). Based in Christchurch, this senior leadership role offers the opportunity to deliver complex projects across the wider South Island while developing people and strengthening client relationships. You’ll take ownership of multiple ICA, BSC and CxM projects from planning through to successful delivery, while providing technical leadership and mentorship to Associates, Engineers and Graduates. Whether your background is in building services coordination, commissioning management, ICA, project delivery or engineering leadership, this role offers the opportunity to apply your expertise across a diverse portfolio of technically challenging commercial construction projects.
What you will do:
- Lead the delivery of multiple ICA, BSC and CxM projects across Christchurch and the South Island
- Provide technical oversight, guidance and problem‑solving across all project stages
- Line manage and mentor Associates, Engineers and Graduates through structured development
- Build strong client relationships and deliver exceptional customer care
- Communicate confidently with clients, consultants and contractors throughout project lifecycles
- Oversee commissioning meetings, functional testing, scenario testing and QA processes
- Review design documentation, commissioning plans and technical submissions
- Conduct site visits, manage trade interfaces and ensure commissioning readiness
- Compile detailed commissioning reports and support building tuning/soft landings
- Support business development, proposals, pricing and repeat client opportunities
- Contribute to internal training programmes, business strategy and policy development
What we are looking for:
- Engineering degree (Mechanical or Electrical) or equivalent
- 8+ years’ engineering experience, including building services and commissioning management
- Proven ability to successfully deliver large or multiple complex projects
- Strong client communication skills and confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels
- Advanced project management, construction planning and H&S capability
- Ability to mentor, lead and develop technical staff at multiple levels
- Familiarity with NZ standards, Green Star processes and commissioning best practice
- Someone who demonstrates professionalism, accountability and strong technical judgement
