Description

  • Acting as a CSRR Subject Matter Expert (SME)
  • Providing technical support of the Common Submarine Radio Room (CSRR) and components
  • Testing, troubleshooting, removing, rebuilding and/or replacing, re-installing and re-testing Submarine Communication Systems and equipment to include hardware, cabling, and software
  • Providing support during Pre-Installation Test and Checkout (PITCO) and System Operational and Verification Testing (SOVT) to include a complete end-to-end test of the radio systems both in a controlled lab environment and onboard naval submarines
  • Performing software installations and system backups on all Windows and Red Hat Linux CSRR components
  • Performing corrective maintenance, installation, testing, and troubleshooting of the CSRR transceiver/receiver systems
  • Providing Pre- and Post-installation testing support during modernization of the CSRR
  • Providing on-the-job training (OJT) to ship’s force after completion of the modernization alteration (will not require at-sea testing)
  • Preparing test documentation and reviewing/revising existing CSRR documentation
  • Supporting pre-deployment External Communications System Grooms of the entire submarine communications suite
  • Providing support to the CSRR Multi-Reconfigurable Training System (MRTS) team
  • Willing and able to travel, not including possible time at-sea

Requirements

  • Prior military experience as ITSX on submarines (at least 5 years of experience)
  • Common Submarine Radio Room (CSRR) experience (at least 5 years of experience)
  • Security+ certification (may obtain within first few months of employment)
