Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Presentation Designer with a proven background in design, someone who began their career as a designer and chose to specialise in presentation design, particularly using PowerPoint, to communicate complex information in visually powerful ways. This role is not suited to someone whose design career began and remained in PowerPoint. We are seeking a talented creative with strong design fundamentals who brings sophistication and craft to every slide, diagram, and visual. You will play a key role in translating scientific and medical content into compelling, high-impact presentations that support a range of client needs in the healthcare and medical communications space.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with medical writers, client services, creative directors, and client stakeholders to understand project objectives and target audiences.
- Design and develop visually engaging presentations rooted in strong layout, typography, and brand awareness.
- Translate complex scientific or medical data into clear, engaging visual formats, charts, infographics, diagrams, and animations.
- Craft presentation narratives that use visual storytelling to clarify messages and improve audience retention.
- Work primarily in PowerPoint but bring expertise from broader design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) to elevate presentation outputs.
- Provide creative direction and mentorship to junior team members and contribute to design excellence within the team.
- Remain current with industry trends in both visual communication and healthcare presentation design.
Requirements
- 6β8 years of experience in professional design, with a clear progression from broader graphic design to a specialist focus in presentation design.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating design fundamentals (typography, layout, visual hierarchy), with a clear track record of presentation design excellence.
- Fluency in PowerPoint as a design tool, complemented by proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
- Strong storytelling and information design skills, especially for scientific and medical content.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills across disciplines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high standards of quality.
- Prior experience in the medical communications or healthcare industry is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and the ability to work with complex scientific content.
What Weβre Not Looking For
This role is not suited to someone whose experience is solely in formatting or editing PowerPoint slides. We need a designer-first thinker who understands visual hierarchy, storytelling, and brand aesthetics, and who has intentionally chosen presentation design as their craft.
Benefits
- Wide-ranging flexible working policy
- Annual leave starting from 25 days
- Private medical/dental cover
- Life insurance
- Discretionary annual performance-related bonus
- Independent employee assistance programme
- Memberships for Perkbox and Headspace
- Salary sacrifice schemes for bicycles and electric cars
- Vibrant social calendar
