We’re currently seeking a Medical Writer 1 to join our team. This role is ideal for someone ready to progress from an Associate Medical Writer position, with a solid foundation in medical communications within an agency environment. You’ll be given the space to grow and flourish, with the freedom to experiment, explore new ideas, and actively contribute to shaping the future of our company.
The role will involve:
- Producing accurate, concise, and insightful content across a wide range of project types, while adapting writing style for different audiences and formats.
- Researching, interpreting, and integrating scientific data from multiple sources, and fact-checking to ensure the highest scientific standards.
- Interacting effectively with clients, thought leaders, and external teams; providing on-site or virtual medical writing support for meetings, with guidance from senior team members.
- Using PowerPoint proficiently to create and edit slides with varying levels of complexity, creativity, and visual impact.
- Taking responsibility for defined aspects of team projects and collaborating to meet agreed timelines, budgets, and client expectations.
- Contributing to business development activities, with support and direction from senior colleagues.
In order to succeed in this role, you will need the following skills and experience:
- Proven experience in medical communications, medical education, medical publishing, or healthcare advertising, ideally within Medical Affairs.
- Experience in academia alone will not be sufficient. Prior work in a communications agency or similar environment is essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A genuine enthusiasm for communicating science to ultimately benefit patients.
- A degree in a biological or life science discipline is essential; a higher degree (e.g., MSc, PhD) is desirable.
- Prior experience in immunology and/or cardiometabolic disease would be advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
