Overview

Our team within the South West are seeking a registered \”Chemotherapy Nurse\” to deliver high-quality oncology care, support patients through their treatment journey, and contribute to the ongoing development of our field-based clinical workforce.

This role is a unique blend of hands-on patient care and clinical development. You’ll work directly with patients receiving chemotherapy while also supporting and developing other clinicians—helping to raise standards, build confidence, and embed best practice across services.

It’s an ideal opportunity for nurses who enjoy variety, autonomy, and the chance to influence both patient outcomes and clinical capability.

Responsibilities

Working autonomously you will administer a range of haematological and solid tumour chemotherapy treatments, as defined in the patient\’s care plan whilst sustaining professional standards.

Seeing between 1–8 patients per day, you will record all clinical data and document any adverse drug events via the correct protocol. Long-lasting relationships will be built with patients, carers, and stakeholders to aid and support treatment and recovery.

A full UK driving licence is essential as you will travel throughout a regional area (covering the south west).

What key skills do I need to apply?

To be successful in this role you will need to be fully competent administering a range of chemotherapy drugs and also have the following skills and attributes:

  • Be registered with the NMC
  • Hold a chemotherapy delivery qualification—preferably a SACT passport
  • Be experienced administering oncology medications in a hospital or community setting
  • Be confident in clinical assessment, IV administration, chemotherapy delivery, cannulation, and phlebotomy
  • Passionate about person-centred care and supporting others
