**THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL****WHAT YOU\’LL BE DOING (and doing well!)****WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU****WHAT WE\’RE BRINGING TO THE TABLE**$28.00 to $38.00 per hour based on experience.West Fire Systems Inc A Divison of Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Systems Technician with programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting capabilities and experience. This position will work closely with our sales team, field project teams, and clients to ensure a sound design, and seamless installation and commissioning of our fire alarm solutions. This is a key position for our growing team and requires attention to detail in all aspects of executing projects. Customer and employee interface require a high degree of effective human relations. Communication skills, both verbal and written are important elements of the position.* Responsible for reviewing system layouts and coordinating with engineering, project management, and sales departments for a successful project execution.* Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity.* Responsible for programming, commissioning and final acceptance by customers and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) of complex fire alarm systems.* Produce detailed commissioning and inspection reports in accordance with NFPA.* Responsible for complex troubleshooting and effective resolution.* Responsible for delivering projects on schedule and within cost budgets.* Responsible for programming systems via laptop computers.* Oversight for project inventory and responsible for vehicle inventory.* Ability to work under tight deadlines.* Provide support, guidance, and expertise to the other technicians.* Customer-focused, skilled in project and people management.* Ability to manage job scheduling and job progress in an efficient and cost-effective manner, with a strong focus on quality.* Proficient in issue resolution.* Excellent organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.* Knowledge of fire industry.* Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.* Ability to travel occasionally overnight as needed.* Two to five years of experience in a technician role within the fire detection and protection environment.* Knowledge of current fire alarm systems.* Ability to program and commission mid-range fire alarm systems using a laptop computer.* Knowledgeable in NFPA 72 code requirements.* Knowledge of Florida fire procedures, filing, and requirements.* Ability to read fire system design drawings.* NICET level I.* Competitive salary based on qualifications.* Paid time off plan and holidays.* 401(k) matching.* Short term and long-term disability.* Medical, dental, and vision plans with options.* Life insurance.* Company cell phone, laptop, and vehicle.* Professional career development opportunities.“Sciens” is Latin for “knowledgeable and skilled.” We take that definition to heart by using our collective experience to do meaningful work in the world—protect people and property through sophisticated life safety, security, communication and electrical systems. #J-18808-Ljbffr
