Role Description

This is a part-time remote role for a Physics Tutor, with the potential for additional hours teaching year 7 and 8 (all sciences).

As part of our Physics team you will be responsible for:

• Producing quality digital teaching resources for online lessons
• Ensuring lesson content is consistent with the curriculum content of the students exam board
• Monitoring student progress throughout each series of lessons
• Delivering interactive and engaging online physics lessons
• Providing individual guidance and offering constructive feedback
• Fostering a passion for learning in physics and related fields.

Qualifications

Required

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• PGCE (Physics/Science)
• Relevant undergraduate degree (e.g. Physics or a related discipline)
• Excellent Physics subject knowledge
• 5+ years classroom teaching experience (Physics GCSE/A-level or equivalent)
• Ability to develop tailored and effective teaching strategies
• IT proficiency and familiarity with online video conferencing software
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Native-level (C2) proficiency in English (both written and spoken)
• A tablet, stylus and webcam (used for online lessons) – compatible with Microsoft Onenote and Google Meet

Desirable

• Tutoring Experience
• Previous experience teaching online
• Familiarity with Google Meet, Google Drive and Microsoft Onenote
• In-date DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) criminal record check – however this can be competed upon hiring

Hours and Scheduling

Our primary market is China and South East Asia, meaning that our lessons are delivered between 8.30am and 4.30pm GMT. Your working hours will be determined by your availability and the availability of our students. Lessons are delivered on a regular schedule whereby a given student will have a Physics lesson at the same time each week.

Lessons are on a one-to-one basis. Initially we have demand for between 5 and 10, one hour Physics lessons per week, however there is scope for additional hours as we expand – as per your availability

Our Ideal Candidate

This role is best suited to a former, retired or part-time physics teacher.

Renumeration

Tutors are paid £35 per lesson – each lesson is 1 hour long. Additional pay is available for the production of teaching resources. Payments are made on a monthly basis on a receipt of an invoice.
