Shift Materials Lab Technician - Leading multinational chemicals/materials manufacturer in Central Lancashire

Company: Multinational materials manufacturer with inviable reputation for quality, sustainability, R&D and advancing technology.

Hours of work: 10pm to 6am Monday to Friday.

You will be involved in

  • Testing of polymeric materials and chemicals using wet chemistry and other analytical instruments.
  • Investigating any non-conformances in products and helping update SOPs.
  • Inputting data on to excel and producing reports.
  • Equipment calibration and general upkeep of the laboratory.
  • Liaison with Quality manager and production to ensure quality.

What do you need to be considered?

You will need

  • Science qualification - ideally A-level (or equivalent) or above in Chemistry or related.
  • Previous laboratory testing experience in chemical analysis including wet chemistry (ph, viscosity, SG) and physical testing (hardness, tensile strength etc).

GC-MS and FTIR would be a distinct advantage.

  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
  • Good grasp of Maths to work out calculations.
  • The ability to communicate with people at all levels and work independently when required.
