QC Chemist job opportunity for a leading chemicals manufacturer based in Lancashire.

Company: Specialist chemicals manufacturer based in the Lancashire area, working on the development of bespoke chemicals for the electronics, medical and other technical industries.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8.15am to 4.30pm (40.75 hours per week). Some flexibility in hours is available.

Location: Lancashire

Salary: £28-33k, depending on skills and experience

You will be involved in:

  • Testing of incoming raw materials and final products and environmental samples, using wet chemistry techniques (pH, viscosity etc.), UV, IR, GC and AA
  • Carrying out Method Development and Validation where required
  • Ensuring that the laboratory remains compliant and standards are maintained
  • Assisting with out specifications results and providing corrective actions and dealing with customer queries when required
  • Ensuring that all results are recorded on computer systems

What do you need to be considered?

  • Science qualification ideally Chemistry at A-level or above
  • Experience in chromatography and wet chemistry techniques
  • Ideally experience of working in a regulated laboratory (i.e. ISO, GMP, UKAS)
  • Excellent communication skills and problem solving skills
  • IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word etc.
